![](/simularium.png) [^note]: I found the simularium at UC Santa Cruz -- as far as I could tell, it was just a room with a projector. # Town Hall #25: Simularium [^note]: [Subscribe to Taylor's Town Hall via email](https://newsletter.taylor.town). First, I'd like to share a long song I wrote about Gödel's incompleteness theorems and the P/NP problem. My live performance at the final [!!Con](https://www.youtube.com/@exclamationfoundation) was mediocre, but I'm quite pleased with how the lyrics landed: - [bang! bang! he murdered math! {the musical!}](/bang-bang) Meanwhile, I've also been experimenting with the speed/length/style of my prose: - [So Many Silver Landmines](/silver-landmines) - [a one man war of attrition](/attrition) As I prepare for [LIVE 2024](https://liveprog.org), my [scrapsheets demo](/live-2024-cfp) has been bearing some cool ideas: - [growing the graveyard of "better spreadsheets"](/better-spreadsheets) - [Reactive Relational Algebra](/reactive-relational-algebra) Stay tuned for my continuing series on [offensive horticulture](/oh): 1. **Theft:** [Proplifting, Plant Piracy, and Dumpster Chocolates](/oh-theft) 2. **Poaching:** [Profitable Plant Propagation Prevents Poaching](/oh-poaching) 3. **Infringement:** _Coming 2024.09.18_ 4. **Colonialism:** _Coming 2024.09.25_ 5. **Possession:** _Coming 2024.10.02_ 6. **Trespassing:** _Coming 2024.10.09_ 7. **Activism:** [Further Reading](/oh#activism) ## Questions & Answers _If you have questions or answers, [send me an e-mail](mailto:hello@taylor.town?subject=Hello)._ - We're considering leaving Southern California for Seattle! Any thoughts/opinions/advice? - I'm researching generation/enforcement of compile-time contracts between clients and servers, and I have no clue what I'm doing. If you have any good tools or mental models, I'm all ears. - How do you think about the evolution of user interfaces over time? What are the earliest examples of "instrument panels" and "controls"? - Any music recommendations? I'm looking for albums/artists to rekindle my "more productive" listening habits -- it should probably be instrumental/non-English stuff to keep my brain's language centers free for work. You can mine [my past music ratings] (/music) for ideas. ## Appearances | | | | ----------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | !!Con '24 | [Bang!
