# Town Hall #10: Seeds [^note]: [Subscribe to Taylor's Town Hall via email](https://newsletter.taylor.town). Clover. Mint, marjoram, echinecha, sage. Pumpkin, cucumber, sunflower, cantaloupe. Sowing seeds is safe nowadays. Attempts are cheap, easy, and riskless. I'm not sure if I'm getting good in the garden, but soil feels nice between my fingers. Learning demands feedback. In gardens, experiments take months (or years) to resolve. I see seeds everywhere now. Social seeds, business seeds, health seeds, etc. -- riskless projects demanding small periodic efforts. Last season's seeds are sprouting. My September sobriety seed is fruiting extra time, better health, and deeper joys. And Spring is bringing the early [cotyledons](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cotyledon) of [Outland](https://outland.sh), [scrapscript](https://scrapscript.org), and my entrepeneurship project. Sometimes long work is more valuable than hard work. --- ## Bay Area Meetup I'll be visiting the Bay Area from May 30 to June 2! [Let me know](mailto:hello@taylor.town) if you'd like to meet up. I'm hoping to get a group together for pinball. --- ## New Writings - ☆ [Candid Culture](/candid-culture) - [Claim a Domain in the Wet Web](/wet-web) - [AR Demands Peripherals](/ar-peripherals) - [Monomode & Multimode in Augmented Reality](/ar-modes) - [AR Interoperability Opportunities](/ar-interop) - [Apple Will Win The AR/VR Wars](/apple-will-win-vr) - [Lifestyle Design (from First Principles)](/constructive-lifestyle-design) - [Tiny Table-of-Contents JS Snippet](/toc-snippet) - [Case Study: Taylor’s Lifestyle Design](/constructive-lifestyle-design-case-study) --- ## Recommendations [^note]: You may skip to [software](#software), [books](#books), [purchases](#purchases), [images](#images), [videos](#videos), or [music](#music). Incredible comedic payoffs. Required reading for rascals. - ★★★★★ _Breakfast of Champions_ by Kurt Vonnegut :: A wacky book about crazy people for crazy people by crazy people. It's Vonnegut's incisive alien wit at its best. - ★★★★☆ _The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy_ by Douglas Adams :: Classic, clever comedy. - ★★★☆☆ _Baby-Led Feeding_ by Jenna Helwig :: This book details how and why to transition babies to solids early. It provides helpful guidance on safety and nutrition. The book comprises mostly simple recipes that seem tasty enough for adults and babies to share. - ★★☆☆☆ _Tell Me No Lies_ by Bader, Pearson, Schwartz :: Wading through pages of filler to find a few worthwhile gems about lies in relationships. Sam Harris's short treatise on lying is a more potent and practical read. - ★★★★☆ _Atlas of the Heart_ by Brené Brown :: An engaging encyclopedia of emotions. - ★★★★★ _Exhalation: Stories_ by Ted Chiang :: A provocative short story collection about humans and technology. Each story will leave a lasting impact on how I see the world. Highly, highly recommended. - ★★★★☆ _The One-Straw Revolution_ by Masanobu Fukuoka :: Human hubris knows no bounds. This book spurns modernity. It's a charming case against science, technology, and progress. The pursuit of comfort makes life untenable. ### Music {music} | | | | ----- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | ★★★★☆ | Ape Escape,Soichi Terada :: _Ape Escape Originape Soundtracks / サルゲッチュ・オリジサル・サウンドトラック_ | | ★★★☆☆ | Sound of Ceres :: _The Twin_ | | ★★★☆☆ | KOTONOHOUSE :: _Synchronicity_ | | ★★★☆☆ | Jay Som :: _Everybody Works_ | | ★★☆☆☆ | kz(livetune) • NARASAKI • WATCHMAN • コジマミノリ :: _TVアニメ「BEATLESS」オリジナルサウンドトラック_ | | ★★☆☆☆ | Owls :: _Our Hopes and Dreams_ | | ★★☆☆☆ | Lucybell :: _Lumina_ | | ★★☆☆☆ | Chet Porter :: _Intermission Broadcast (DJ Mix)_ | | ★☆☆☆☆ | Perma :: _Fight Fair_ | ### Images {images} - ☆ [bofa fire painting](/6l05zmlaxc0b1.jpg) - ☆ [33 years old](/v2rdoaqw6pta1.png) - ☆ [parfum d'whatsapp](/ocvo48w5swxa1.png) - ☆ [blurry tattoo](/w749wjw3zkwa1.jpg) - ☆ [shaggy this isn't weed](/artworks-000220061488-cww2aa-t500x500.jpg) - [mandog](/dah9ed6qa4za1.png) - [big banana](/6f463sa5agza1.jpg) - [waffle barbie](/dopb47l9dgza1.png) - [doglegs](/txzfyzkn9jza1.jpg) - [deep horse](/XjAt8HTvbjohADtJ60jc_gph3q_HNAOHzu907CBalBs.jpg) - [vigilante parking justice](/931n1s2eojza1.png) - [biblically-realistic furby](/ekfbaht67oza1.jpg) - [never date a worm](/dsk8kgkox2xa1.png) - [jail :(](/gb8eeek5wita1.jpg) - [4x girlfriend](/dd9145zk0txa1.jpg) - [am i stupid](/bfzvpkpzb0ya1.jpg) - [udder killing machine](/oH0z2L5rSQicEeVGwf7mqstscTe8kaqqlMw9HFHXe3c.jpg) - [circumcision](/u4m5c3q2ouwa1.jpg) - [big prs](/pkcsunr302m61.jpg) - [programming is chaotic magic](/xh9dzd3f92va1.jpg) - [skeletal fashion](/Uf6qiadgU3HCTZ7uX9BdSEYrQsWGJ1VypkRgBy4dFjA.jpg) ### Videos {videos} - ☆ [Spider-man 3 farm jump with Scooby Doo Laugh](https://youtu.be/VFckpH130QE) - ☆ [2 Hamsters 1 Wheel - Interstellar](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VY9dEhoCwRY) - ☆ [when the organist makes you believe in god](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPFWPw2Tkw8) - ☆ [is this what musical gore sounds like?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LzTF9asphUg) - [This magic trick](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0yTkBDyjPk) - [Biden blast](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsGUjMhFZzc) - [How a 23-Year-Old Solved Urban Sprawl](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qwbp9T-WS-I) - [Introducing Nopia](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ivuy9QYLFVY) - [DOMi & JD BECK: Tiny Desk Concert](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANPbOxaRIO0) - [Ascending Seal](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7O8fiQ_maBg) - [Driving to the banana store](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=od_PmtmMDV0) - [Hey guys I’m in New York just hanging out](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNERSokQAbE) - [Inside An Architectural Farm House with A Luscious Internal Garden (House Tour)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PlOFGYgyP-I) - [Japanese Foundation Structure Explained! - Dodai (土台) - Setting up the Dodai (Foundation Beams)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwEDNPUZSxE) - [Danny Brown - Ain't It Funny (Official Video, dir.
